Green Carbon Steel™
As industries move toward sustainability, demand for low-carbon materials keeps rising. Green Carbon Steel™ is American Katerra’s name for that shift in steel: structural steel with significantly reduced CO2 across the entire supply chain, with the goal of decarbonizing it end to end. It is the idea that sits behind our low-carbon Green Steel product.
Blue Carbon Steel™
Blue carbon is the carbon that coastal and marine ecosystems pull from the air and lock away. Blue Carbon Steel™ is American Katerra’s concept for applying that same principle to steel: capturing and reducing the CO2 that fabrication produces, rather than only cutting it at the source. It is the companion to Green Carbon Steel™, and an emerging, forward-looking part of our sustainability approach.
Green Information Modeling™
On most projects, carbon is a separate calculation, done late and by someone else. Green Information Modeling™ is American Katerra’s approach to building it into the model instead. The same BIM model that details and fabricates your steel also carries its quantities and its carbon, so decisions about footprint happen while they can still change the outcome. It is how our AI-native, model-first workflow connects design to decarbonization.
Green Human Capital™
At American Katerra, people are not a line item; they are the engine behind everything we build. Green Human Capital™ is our approach to investing in them, developing them, and measuring it, reported in line with ISO 30414, the international standard for human capital.
