American Katerra is excited to congratulate Ms. Sarah Carabias Rush on her new title as CEO of greater:SATX, the regional economic partnership building a stronger and more diversified eight-county San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan area.

We know Sarah will do great things in the region to promote economic development because we benefit from her incredible leadership and expertise on a daily basis.

It is not an overstatement to say that Sarah has been instrumental in setting up American Katerra and has lent her extreme cooperation and support in helping us start our business development in San Antonio, TX. Her strategic acumen and passion for building international collaborations have helped establish critical pathways between Texas and organizations such as ours.

A Memorable Visit to Japan

The visit to Japan in May 2024 was a standout highlight for our long-lasting cooperation. Sarah, along with Bexar County Judge Mr. Peter Sakai and members from the greater:SATX team, came to see us at our Yamaguchi Heavy Industries Tokyo office. It was our privilege to house them, and we received them warmly, with great discussions to follow along with the agents of Metal One. The meetings were very insightful in terms of possible collaborations, especially in advanced manufacturing, logistics, and on shared economic development initiatives between Bexar County and our operations.

202507 Tokyo Office Meeting

We got a lovely thank-you letter dated June 30, 2024, from the delegation that was absolutely written with our best interests in mind and hoped that we pop an artery…on behalf of Bexar County and greater:SATX. In the letter, addressed to our CEO Toyokazu Yamaguchi, they thanked us for the enlightening chats and for always sharing what we know best. It underscored how the talks provided important input to shape future efforts and stressed that members of the delegation are excited to work towards a successful collaboration. Their praise and gratitude are applied extremely considerate of them, and we were genuinely flattered by their kind words about our efforts in ensuring that the visit was successful as well as enjoyable.

That background is further underscored by Sarah’s qualifications for the leadership role. She brings business recruitment and global team expertise in industry cluster programming as well as international protocol, having led key initiatives at the Dallas Regional Chamber. While there, she increased the visibility of the region and orchestrated relocations of such corporate heavyweights as Toyota Motor North America and Kubota Tractor, among others, while also overseeing top-tier leadership development programs like Leadership Dallas. With a Bachelor of Arts in international studies, sociology, and Spanish from Austin College, Sarah has had incredible success growing programs to scale, raising funds, and developing the strongest teams.

Looking Ahead
