American Katerra Joins SelectUSA 2025: Building Global Partnerships

The SelectUSA Investment Summit, held annually, is the premier event in the United States dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI). Organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the 2025 Summit took place from May 11-14 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. This high-profile gathering brought together over 5,500 attendees, including representatives from more than 100 countries, 54 U.S. states and territories, and key industry leaders. The event featured plenary sessions, panel discussions, pitching sessions, and an expansive Exhibition Hall, fostering connections between international investors, U.S. economic development organizations (EDOs), and government officials. SelectUSA serves as a vital platform for exploring investment opportunities, sharing insights on industry trends, and facilitating partnerships that drive economic growth across the U.S.

As an observer at the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit, American Katerra had the privilege of engaging with several Japanese companies participating as exhibitors and sponsors. The Summit provided a unique opportunity to visit their booths in the Exhibition Hall, where we discussed potential collaborations and explored their investment strategies in the U.S. market. These interactions underscored the strong interest from Japanese firms in expanding their presence in the United States, particularly in innovative sectors like technology and manufacturing.

A highlight of our participation was a productive meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Shigeo Yamada. This discussion allowed us to gain valuable insights into the strategic priorities of Japanese businesses investing in the U.S. and to strengthen ties between American Katerra and Japan’s diplomatic and business communities. The Summit’s networking environment, supported by events like the State and Local Night Reception, facilitated these meaningful exchanges, reinforcing our commitment to fostering cross-border partnerships.

American Katerra maintains a collaborative relationship with the U.S. Embassy of Japan, rooted in our shared goal of promoting economic cooperation between the United States and Japan. The Embassy plays a critical role in supporting Japanese companies navigating the U.S. market, offering resources and guidance on investment opportunities. Actually, the Embassy invited us to the Select USA event and we joined it. Our engagement with the Embassy, exemplified by our interactions at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, reflects our dedication to building bridges between American and Japanese businesses. By aligning with the Embassy’s initiatives, American Katerra aims to contribute to a robust bilateral economic partnership, leveraging opportunities in construction, technology, and sustainable development.
