Our Revolutionary Green and Blue Carbon Steel™ Being Put to the Test
At our stand, we will promote our groundbreaking Green Carbon Steel™ and Blue Carbon Steel™ processes, which can deliver substantial carbon reductions for the steel industry without sacrificing performance or adaptability in a wide range of applications.
Green Carbon Steel™ incorporates CCUS technologies at the heart of its production process. We can capture CO2 emissions from steel production and reuse them elsewhere in industry, or store them safely deep underground. This makes achievable net-zero carbon potential, encourages closed-loop through reuse of the by-products, and leads to a low-cost transition without completely revamping existing infrastructure.
To enhance this, Blue Carbon Steel™ utilizes the power of natural blue carbon ecosystems – namely seaweeds, types of seagrass and grasses that grow in saltwater (like mangroves) and salt marshes – to absorb CO2 emissions. In doing so, we capture the ecological goods and services of these ecosystems proximate to production sites: they sequester carbon in either biomass or ocean floors, but also provide sustainable biomass as a form of renewable energy other than fossil fuels. More than just reduce emissions over traditional practices, this innovation is helping to protect biodiversity and local economies as well as create global carbon credits.
Seek Sustainability in the Steel Industry
The two technologies are a leap ahead of traditional steel production in terms of environmental considerations such as reducing climate change impacts and improved sustainability, and will be able to produce the same quality steels necessary for economic competitiveness. We welcome key industry fora, partners, and innovators to come by our booth to hear more about how Green and Blue Carbon Steel™ can help your decarbonization journey and sustainable projects. Whether you’re in utilities, construction, industry, or manufacturing, our solutions are designed to keep the green momentum going.
